Our services and prices

Your Initial Consultation is with Dr Craig Govan, a clinical psychologist. He is not a medical doctor. After it, you can add an assessment if you want a diagnosis, or go straight to treatment.

    Optional

    Assessment & Diagnosis

    £389, 90 minutes

Not sure if you have OCD? This one-off virtual session determines whether you meet clinical criteria. If diagnosed, we’ll provide an official letter from a registered clinical psychologist to confirm this and discuss your next steps.

If you are not given a diagnosis, we will still offer recommendations and tell you what we think is going on instead. In many cases, we may still be able to offer you support, even if you do not have OCD.

Already have a diagnosis from a mental health professional, or feel you do not need one? You can skip this service.
  • Your treatment

    Individual 1:1 Treatment

    £195, 50 minute session

£175 per session when you book four or more in advance.

Tailored Zoom sessions with a registered clinical psychologist, at a frequency that suits you: twice weekly, weekly or fortnightly.

Our approach is built on exposure and response prevention (ERP), and we can also integrate ACT, family and systemic interventions, psychodynamic informed approaches and CBT.

For block booking sessions, payment is made in advance via bank transfer. Need to meet on the same day or time each week? Then we can mutually agree on a time that works for you (subject to availability).

You do not need to have used our diagnosis service to book treatment. Everyone is welcome.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a GP referral for private OCD therapy?

No. You can book with us directly. You do not need a referral from your GP or anyone else.

You can still tell your GP that you are having therapy, if you would like to.

Can I get OCD treatment on the NHS?

Yes. NHS talking therapy is free. The NHS says (opens in a new tab) the main treatments for OCD are talking therapy, usually cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) with exposure and response prevention (ERP), and medicine.

In England, you can refer yourself to an NHS talking therapies service (opens in a new tab), including for OCD. Or you can see a GP, who can refer you if needed. To refer yourself, you need to be 18 or over (16 or 17 in some areas). You do not need a diagnosis.

If the service can help you, it will tell you how long you may need to wait for your first session.

In Scotland, NHS inform says (opens in a new tab) to speak to your GP or another healthcare professional if you think therapy could help. You may also be able to refer yourself for digital talking therapies, if your area offers them.

In Wales, NHS 111 Wales says (opens in a new tab) anyone aged 16 or over can sign up for SilverCloud without a referral. It is a free online course based on CBT, with support for anxiety, depression and more.

If you are looking for help for a child or teenager, read our guide to OCD in children and young people.

Do I need to pay for an assessment before OCD therapy?

No. The Assessment & Diagnosis is an optional, separate service. You can book Individual 1:1 Treatment without it, and you do not need a diagnosis first.

If you are not sure whether you need an assessment, ask at your Initial Consultation.

Not sure if what you are going through is OCD? Read our guide to what OCD is and how it shows up.

How many sessions of OCD therapy will I need?

It depends on you and your OCD. The NHS says (opens in a new tab) people with fairly mild OCD usually need about 8 to 20 therapy sessions, with exercises to do at home between sessions. If your OCD is more severe, you may need a longer course.

We will talk about this at your Initial Consultation, as part of your personalised treatment plan. If you book four or more sessions in advance, you get a discount. You can also read about how OCD treatment works.

Can I book the same time each week?

Yes, if that suits you. We can agree a regular day and time with you, subject to availability.
